I would be extremely upset, but realistically, we would all have to accept their choice if they ever decided to stop making music.
They would only stop creating music, the thing that they love to do, if they no longer had something to say or no longer loved it, themselves. If they were to continue to make music past that point, they would be lying to us and miserable themselves.
